Hi guys, it’s Natalie!
Junior Gold was really fun. I saw a lot of teenagers that bowl really good at home who came here and bowled not so good. They got really frustrated and some of them were able to turn it around and some weren’t. Their moms and dads kept telling them it was “a good experience” and “now you know what to expect next year.” I had to ask my mom, what if they don’t make it back next year? They shouldn’t get mad that they didn’t bowl good for a few games but they should be really happy that they got to be here at all!
I bowled in the junior/adult tournament. I did not bowl good at all but it was a ton of fun! A lot of people recognized me and wanted to take pictures with me. One man told me that me smiling while I was bowling not that good made him really happy and not really worried about how he was bowling but [made him] just want to have fun.
I learned that Junior Gold is hard because of the sport shots and you have to practice A LOT because that is the only way you will get better. It showed me how important slashes (spares) really are!!! I know it will be really hard to get to Junior Gold next year but with “less dashes, more slashes” hopefully I can be in Buffalo bowling in the U12 division!!! Who’s with me? Let’s go practice!!!
